Pay no attention to me dancing with my girl, we have every intention of being failures in this world.

I would love to swap for things kids could do in the car on a long car trip (3 girls ages 5-12). I can knit, crochet or trade yarn.

wheeeee   i'm the first to receive!

i got a great drop spindle kit today from ifallthraindrops

my goodies came packed up all cozy in this adorable polka-dotted pouch (which draws me to the conclusion that someone in her house is sporting polka dotted sheets of the same design?  totally looks like the pouch those comfy sheet sets come in Wink )

the spindle and 2 different colors of (hand dyed!!!!) roving - a pretty greenish blue, and a harder to see lovely brown

she made this cute zine-like instruction booklet (love the name!!) and a mini skein of handspun  Smiley

the inside of the booklet is chock full of instructions and helpful illustrations and examples

and....i just had to pop in a picture of the card she sent me because i LOVE it!

sadly, i have little time for spinning right now because i'm packing up for a move that will happen 1 day after i get back from vacation (that i haven't packed for).  talk about stressful.
in my zen moments, i just keep imagining myself sitting in the spacious, sunny yard of the new apartment, spinning hanks and skeins of beautiful yarn.  i can barely wait!!

Smiley  Smiley  Smiley  thank you so much, brinn!!!!  Smiley  Smiley  Smiley

Yay, I'm glad you like everything Kym! I actually sewed the drawstring bag myself--the outside was a remnant from Walmart and the lining is part of a Barney bedsheet I got at the thrift store for the express purchase of lining totes and drawstring bags.

I'm also pretty proud of the way the roving came out, as well as the name of the colorway. I called it "Ocean Madness: It's no Excuse for Ocean Rudeness". : )

Wow! terrific job on the kit! I love how the booklet and drawstring bag is handmade, and the sample is so pretty! Great score, sugaree.

you know, my initial thought was that you had sewn the bag yourself, but when i inspected it, it just looked too perfect so i assumed a machine had done it.  you are one snappy sewer, brinn!  Smiley

and duh moment for me!  i should have included the name of the roving in my post - it made me giggle when i read it.  so clever.  you are one talented chickadee and i'm lucky to have had you as my partner.

thank you again!
