My sisters birthday was last Monday and I've had these heels laying around for a while.  I bought them years ago for a Murder Mystery party and never wore them again.  She's all into the Rockabilly thing and she's always showing me shoes that she wants.  I decided I could come up with something to do with these since I'm a broke bastard and can't afford to buy any of the ones she want.

I splattered the paint on them on my roof (i live on the third floor so I don't have a porch but my fire escape door leads right onto the roof) and it seriously looked like a massacre out there and it still does!  After letting the paint dry, I sprayed some sealer on them and then added these bows to the back.  I have a pair of heels with black bows on the back which she loves so I figured these would be a nice touch.

View of the massacre, I probably should have put down more paper  Roll Eyes

Messiest project I've done in a loooong while

Thanks for looking...she LOVED them.

Those are so awesome! I wish I could wear heels. The hubbs and I are the same height, and if I'm in heels, it makes me taller, and he doesn't much like that. So flats for me. But great job! I love the bows on the back!

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

oh I'm no good at bows either!  Around christmas time I was trying to make fancy bows when wrapping presents.  I found alot of videos on you tube showing how to make them.
These bows are actually not very bow-ish...
I just made 3 separate loops of the ribbon, each a little bigger than the last, hot glued them together at the center and then wrapped a tiny hair rubber band around the center of all of them to pull it together more.  Then I folded an inch piece of ribbon in half and wrapped it around the center of the 3 big loops and hot glued that.  Then I cut two tail parts and hot glued them to the back of the bow.

It's not nearly as difficult as it looks!!

Those Killer Heels are just great! I imagine them with a hourglass dress, maybe in black so the heels get even more attention. But I wouldn't have the heart to wear them, because I would be too afraid of ruining them...

Haha, those are amazing! I did this to my room walls. They were white and boring, so I splattered red paint everywhere like four years ago and it's still like that. I love it. And I love those shoes. I'm inspired  Cheesy

These are great!!  I, too, am wondering what sealant you used.  I have a few pairs that I've painted but haven't sealed, so they've been for display only so far!

I have the same question as a couple others, what kind of sealant did you use? and what kind of paint? I can't find the perfect shoes for my wedding, and i'm thinking about painting my own, but using yellow instead of red. these are fantastic!

For the sealer I just picked up some stuff I found at Joanns...the brand is Design Master and it is Clear Finish Gloss 168, Indoor/Outdoor & Moisture Resistant.  It's in a spray can and was super easy to use.  It says that it is gloss but actually the shoes were originally patent leather and this finish made them a little more matte which my sister and I both like better, we don't really get down on patent leather  Cheesy
And the actual red paint is acrylic paint, Liquitex brand.  Its the big tubes they sell in most paint departments, they say Basics really big on them.
I just mixed a little bit of water in with the paint so it was easier to flick around.  The way I made it look all splattered was hold the paint brush in my right hand (i am a righty) and then smack the paint brush over my left wrist (hence why my left hand was covered in paint when I was finished  Roll Eyes) and just went to town.  I practiced quite a bit before hand to figure out how far away to stand, how hard to smack the brush, etc.
I hope this helps everybody!!
