I did this for a friend..I will put in in a metal frame and glue some gears and stuff to the frame ( when I get done totally if I do that really ( matter of finding enough stuff cheep LOL) if not I will figure it out...what do you think of this project? I normally am a mad cross stitcher but this was a bit different for me as I had to free hand it on the fabric as I had no transfer paper and got the image on the net and I am not really an artist so that was a bit rough for me to pull off by looking back and forth...

The fabric is an old dish towel I bleached out white but should have tea dyed it but wth I forgot and too late now LOL

It boggles my mind when talented people can freehand it like this.  It's really cool looking, and will be amazing framed with some gears added.  What an awesome gift for a friend!

i think it looks amazing.  i also think that you could still tea-dye it, as long as you don't wash it out so much after that it damages the shading (which if it's going to be framed wouldn't matter anyway?  unless the acid in tea does something terrible to fabric in the long run?) ... i just think i agree with your possible implication that the tea-dying would help it look even more steampunk.

Great job! I think you could still tea dye/dye it somehow. Even if it smudges the shading a little, that would just give it more character.

I have several different teas made LOL and in sprits bottles I am going to cover the image and shade it with tea little by little and let it dry then see what gives on the image I would just cry if it ruined the image really so I will take it on little by little and see how it goes....
