Papasan Makeover!!

I gave my papasan a makeover!  I used all cotton scraps and had no real plan.  The smallest block is less than 1"x1" and the largest is about 8"x4".  I gave it a pocket back that I stitched closed with big stitches for now so I can take it off to clean it.  I will probably give it buttons and buttonholes on the backside someday, but I was just too excited to test it out   

Much more eye-catching than the boring black cushion it has had for the last 10 yrs!  This is my first "Home Sweet Home" post, I'd love to hear what you think!

What a great way to spice up an otherwise ordinary chair!

This is really committing to the cover, but I think it would just put the whole project over the top if you were to add covered buttons and sew them through the cushion. It wouldn't be that much extra work to replace if you take the cover off to wash, and in the meantime it will make the seat look like a million bucks!

It's really quite lovely. I'm always a fan of patchwork upholstery.

That's fantastic. I like the removability of the cover, people spill stuff on chairs, so nice to be able to just wash the cover. The bright colors and random patch sizes are really great.

That's so awesome! I used to have a papasan chair, but had to give it up when we moved, because we didn't have enough room for it. That cover looks great! If I ever get another chair, I might attempt something similar. I love the patchwork look!
