So I dreamed up and sewed together this dress yesterday afternoon. I've had this fabric for a while and I've got a ton of it, because for some reason I decided to buy everything left on the roll. Not sure where my head was at...

Anyways, it's such a hodgepodge of ideas that somehow managed to work out. I've got this pieced together, awesomely-structured top and a really neat partially pleated, asymmetrical tulip skirt. I took it to my friend today to model it for me and was pleasantly surprised at how it looked on her! I think I will make another one for myself... but in something less bold.

Oh yeah... did I mention that in addition to being rainbow tie dye it's got little golden screenprints of Africa all over? Well, it does.

And there you have it =] I'm torn between thinking it's super obnoxious and thinking it's absolutely lovely.

It's absolutely lovely! You might not want to wear anything else bold with it though. Besides, a dress that awesome doesn't need jewelry.
