a word about slingmomma: I introduced her to spinning and now she's better than I am!

Jealous of your talents, all of you!

Oh come on now.... I just have a lot of patience lol It took me a few days to get that bamboo spun up because I kept dropping my spindle and getting frustrated. And I am so hugely grateful that you got me into this!! Its my new favourite night craft Smiley And p.s your yarns are awesome! I still haven't figured out what I want to use it for.. hoarding it until I find the right project Wink

Get a spindle!  I just started with one, and Im not very good yet, but its pretty cool!

Hey guys!  Does anyone know a link about 2 ply yarn?  I really want to experiment with that.  is it possible with just a spindle?

That link neglects to mention when plying you want to spin in the opposite direction of the singles  So if you spun a Z twist (or clockwise) you would want to spin your ply in an S twist (counterclockwise)  If you spin in the same direction you spun, you will get an extrememly kinky yarn.  One that would likely just tangle upon itself.

Also I know SewMamaLady is planning on starting up the Learn to Spin lessons.  Next lesson involves spinning and setting twist!

I only own spindles.  Like 8 of them lol.  They are portable, to take where ever, they don't take up much room and they are like potato chips you can't just have one loll  Grin

Ive done all my plying on a spindle. I dont own a wheel yet, but yes, plying in the opposite direction of the twist is probably the MOST important! Smiley I am loving everyones yarns, theyre so beautiful! Fiber fridays are my favorite to stalk, even when I have nothing to post.
