This is my first time as well. Just wondering what everyone uses to help the houses stand. Is it just cardboard or do you put a little stand thing on them too. Ideas are running rampant in my head and I want to get started.

Just use sturdy cardboard, chipboard, wood, etc. for the house shapes.  It isn't necessary to attach a stand to them.  Most of us have different ways of displaying the chunky houses Smiley  I like to either prop them against the walls, or attach a clip to them and hang it on the wall.

Go Team Mies van der Rohe!!!
I can't wait to get started on the houses as well!  But first, I have to sew a dress for a 4 yo and her 18-inch doll Roll Eyes  Then I can put away all my sewing mess and focus on papercrafts Grin

I am so excited about this swap! I am trying to make everything from my stash and only buy postage for this swap. Mostly because it is a fun creative challenge and because I have to move in less than a month! I am so excited to be moving because it means more creative fun in my new place (you know, decorating and making things). My partners may be getting some extra goodies so I can feel like I have worked on moving while crafting Wink

I don't have a lot of chipboard or cardboard in my room though. Is it OK if I glue a few sheets of bristol board together to make the house shape? Bristol board is sturdier than cardstock, but not as heavy as cardboard. I have some of it left over from my art class days. Sad to think that I am done with school, no more excuses to buy art supplies Sad

Just a quick cell phone teaser photo Cheesy

I have been working on my prototype to make sure it will look lovely. I am liking these so far Smiley

ETA: And I realized today that my button stash is running a little low so I might buy some more while I am out. Probably not until after I move though, I am trying not to spend money LOL
