Did You Know?? -- Quick Reply (the most efficient way to reply to threads!)

Did you know you can enable a feature called Quick Reply?  Quick Reply allows you to reply directly via the screen you are currently viewing without reloading the full Reply screen with all of the extra bells & whistle buttons (smileys, insert image, etc.).

You can manually type the extra bells & whistles, if you wish, but with Quick Reply, you won't have to wait for the whole screen to reload and display all of those extra buttons.

To enable this feature:

• Click MY CRAFTSTER on the tape measure menu toward the top of the screen
• Click My Profile
• Under the heading Modify Profile, click Look and Layout Preferences
• Select "show on by default" from the dropdown menu for Use quick reply on topic display:
• Click Change profile

Now when you visit any thread on Craftster, at the very bottom of the screen, you'll see this lovely little Quick Reply box.

Here's a view of it in action!  Just type your reply and click Post.  Voilà!

haha good timing on this post as I just found out about the quick reply thing purely by accident a few days ago and it has made Craftster replies MUCH faster and easier!! <3

Oh gosh, had I know about this feature nearly 2 years ago, I'd have a rediculous post count, enabled or not!  This site is addicting in and of itself!  I would never survive with out craftster!


ETA:  Is it sad that I went the long route to reply?  or just proof that old dogs need longer to learn new tricks?

This is so extremely convenient and it also has the spell check too.  Thank you so much and thank you for the exact instructions on how to "get" it. I too just need to remember to use it.lol.  I just used it for the first time and I'm in love.  Now if you can only get the spell check to check my grammar also.

So I've been a member of Craftster for 6+ years and never knew what the quick reply was all about until I stumbled across this post today - got it set up and I'm going to love it.  I also decided to investigate what the quick moderation was, changed it too and I'm going to love it as well.  Maybe I should investigate Craftster more, you never know what I'll learn
