bitty booties inspired by heather baileys pattern...... I made these for Lapoli, who is expecting a new sprout very soon. ..... I started with the pattern, and altered it a bit, extending the back, so that there is an overlap and I was able to add functional buttons.... these booties are made out of a reclaimed felted sweater...and are completely hand sewn.

and a view of the back to show the button closure......which will hopefully make it easier to put them on, as well as keeping them on, since the opening is smaller when buttoned.

thanks for looking.........I hope Lapoli and her new little sprout enjoy them!

I just realized that these pictures were taken before I added eyes ...... the elephants have little frenchknot eyes.
edit: here is a link to the pictures Lapoli took, the elephants have their EYES

These booties are so cute!  Love the elephant guy!  I've made this pattern for our (due in Nov.) grandson too, but was worrying about them being too tight to get on, so seeing what you've done to the back/closure, I think I must now try some again using your method instead.  Thanks for the inspiration.
