Perfect purple pillowcase dress!

I finally started and finished a project! It super helped that I had a deadline. I gave myself about a week but ended up finishing this in just 3 days. It probably would have taken less time but I have a 3 year old and an 8 month old. Priorities, I know. So here it is on my niece for her 3rd birthday!


I just bought a standard sized pillowcase set that came in a handy cloth bag made of the same material, cut off 4 inches from the top and J shaped arm holes. I sewed all of the raw edges, added a slip through ribbon (correct term? I have no idea.), and pockets with lace and lace around the bottom. I also made ties for the back out of the scrap fabric from what i cut from the top so it didn't balloon and kept it more fitted. She loved it and i was so happy I made it instead of buying one. Now I need to make one for my daughter since it was so cute, easy and b/c she was my dutiful dolly. Yay!
