You have done a fine job of work.  I'm especially impressed with the bodice details.  Cordially, Nehmah

Thank you so much for all the responses! I'm quite overwhelmed!  Cheesy

I feel you on the marathon sewing sessions.  Doesn't it feel good to put the dress on finally after it's finished?!
Sooo true! Even though most of the way through I was convinced it was all going wrong and I'd have to buy something cheap last minute, when I finally put it on and it actually fit I was so relieved!

I can't help but ask... You have a year 13?
I live in the UK and year 13 is the final year of high school/sixth form. its also called upper sixth sometimes. I don't really understand the american school system so I don't know what the equivalent is, but i'm 18 and i'm going to uni next year, and this was our school leavers prom  Smiley

It looks so complicated, especially the bodice...You did a truly amazing job, and I hope you had fun at prom!
Thank you Smiley I must give credit to my mum who helped loads making the gathers even and unpicking things when I did it wrong (the instructions were confusing)

Thanks again for all the lovely feedback Smiley

How awesome are you for having the patience and passion to take on a dress with that much difficulty!! And it turned out fabulous.

I so want to sew a skirt for myself but am still afraid to start. Sad

You've inspired me to go for it!! Great jOB!

Wow! I love everything about it. The color is gorgeous and its very well made. You look very young for having made this, but it just means you have talent ;]. Cant wait to see what else you make!

Yours is nicer than the one on the Vogue site or the original. Good job!

I'm looking for Simplicity 6340 (the 1970's sailor dress). PM me if you've got a copy to swop or sell! Cheesy

Love this dress, think it's way prettier than the one that inspired it actually. Well done

If you say 'plz' because it's shorter than 'please',I'll say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

I see. I guess what you call year 1 is our Kindergarten in Australia.

What a stunning dress! It looks beautiful on you!

Funny thing is that I was looking at the exact same Lanvin dress today and sighing over the price tag. Wonderful job!
