What is the best way to join a fabric lining to a crochet bag? Is it something that you can or should do on a sewing machine or should you do it completely by hand?

I imagine you could do it by machine if you were brave. My advice would be to use lots of pins, or perhaps tack it into place first, and perhaps use a setting for stretch fabrics.
I have always left mine (to mature?) for 2 months then got frustrated and sewn it in by hand because I'm too chicken. I've worked on it for too long to risk ruining it during the final stages.
