The inspiration for this nursery started with the animal alphabet cards.  I wanted a gender neutral room so that we could add children in the future.

My mom made the crib skirt out of Alexander Henry's Juicy Jungle fabric.
I made the valance and appliqued animals from the fabric on it.  Sewing is new for me, and so my mother in law helped me make the valance, and I learned a lot.  My daughter was born the middle of June, so it has been fun to finally use the room with her.  I would like the paint to be a little less bright, it is a little strong for my taste, but overall it feels like a fun, happy space.

Totally adorable!! My girl's room is painted a pretty bright green too, and yeah, it took a bit getting used to, even though I picked the color. Smiley Great job on the valance.

Adorable! I know just what you mean about the bright green, last summer I did my son's nursery in cute 60s/retro cowboy theme and painted the walls cactus green. I love it but the first couple days it was a little hard on the eyes.

That's really cute.  I love those animal alphabet cards and the green is really cheerful.  Oh, and congrats on your baby girl.
