Crafter's Block = My worst enemy

View Profile
« on: July 13, 2010 09:05:10 AM »

Hello all,

This is a problem that has plagued me for a while, but for some reason I just realized that I should ask it here.

Problem: What is the best adhesive to use to adhere scrapbook paper together, to make it last/permanent?

Situation: For the past three years I have made my bf scrapbook calendars and I have made them each a little different but for some reason I keep having a problem with the paper staying stuck to the calendar.  I make the calendar in November and by July the page is coming off, in the past I have used rubber cement, a combo of rubber cement/glue sticks, and even tacky glue.  My ideal would be something that would be permanent, easy to use, and not make the paper all wrinkly.

I would appreciate any tips/tools/advice.  How about the glue dots, I have never used those, do they last over a long period of time?

Thanks!

I use tape runners and they usually do the job.

I've never had success with glues; they all peel on me after a while.  I use photo squares.  (Basically like the tape runners Kuhhhristin mentioned, but they come in small squares.)  I can usually find them periodically on sale at Michael's for $1/box.  And I'm cheap, so I usually use my scissors to cut them in half!
