Hello

I brought 4 big avocados from the store and they are sooooo hard.  Any tips on how to ripen them?  I read one thing about putting them in the microwave (!) - but I don't have a microwave!

Thanks in advance!

It takes a day or two, but I put them in a paper bag and put them in the pantry or somewhere kind of dark. Apparently it'll work faster if you put an apple in the bag also. I usually just put them in a bag by themselves. Smiley

I know this is late, but for future reference...  Wink Put the avocados next to bananas. Bananas make everything ripen up much faster. Conversely, store produce that you want to keep longer away from your bananas!

I just put a couple in a brown paper bag on the counter. Their "gasses" will stay close and ripen them faster.
I buy green ones at the market and just have one simi ripe then as I use the most ripe one I move another in the bag...that way I always have one ready to go and they don't go bad before I am ready for them Smiley
