My blog needed a new banner. I wanted something totally unique and one of a kind. I asked the lovely Digital Misfit to draw me something up. She drew this super sweet little girl and my name (Always Inspired). I added the paper mini buntings and the written word "of".
Here is an angled close up. I learned a new stitch to do that plaid type fill. Digital Misfit wants everyone to know she didn't draw it that way, I'm just crazy enough to learn a stitch just to make it that way.  Cheesy Her dress is green split stitch fill. The Always Inspired is 1 strand back stitch.

The hair is also split stitch fill with 2 different colors of thread blended.

She is mainly split stitch in 2 or 3 strands with only 1 strand on some of the facial elements. I also used metallic thread for the needle. I also used a bit of backstitch.

Here is a close up of the mini paper buntings I made using some great papers and my letter stamps. I know they aren't embroidery, but they were made to incorporate my love of paper crafting as well. And I did use embroidery floss to hang them from!

Here is what the finished blog banner looks like. The colors were dimmed down a bit to look a little more aged.

I plan on framing up the finished piece to add to my craft room wall!

How wonderful! So creative, and it makes a great banner! I love the drawing, and the way you incorporated embroidery and paper crafting. Two of my favorites.

You did an even better job than I could have imagined with the design.  That plaid stitch is so rockin'!
I ♥ the color combo, and your mini buntings are too adorable.

I love it! so cute and creative! I've been thinking about making a version of my banner out of actual materials as well, though I was thinking of making a big one to use at craft fairs and things.
