OK so here's the deal I'm in this tap dance with my friend and two little ones the idea is they are Mario and Luigi and we are the mushrooms they are out to get...Their costumes are obviously simple overalls and t-shirts...But I don't know how to make us mushrooms....origin ally it was just gonna be a hat now they want our heads out the top which would be easier if we didn't have to lay down at the end(they win we die)...Any help would be super we have to start making these like now time has slipped away like every other year and recital is fast approaching and we have 3 other dances to make costumes for! AHHH and right in the middle of finals...HELP

hmmm....I'm thinking a circle skirt that fits around your neck or shoulders and goes to your waist with brown pants.  You could either use a hula hoop to make it balloon out at your waist, or put elastic at the waist and stuff it with newspaper.  Does that help?

Good luck with everything.  I love the mario idea.  I just did a mario mural for one of my finals (its under the interior design section).  Good luck with your finals, you'll make it, promise!

You could just make the regular old pumpkin costumes everyone wore as a kid. Just a big sack with arm, head, and leg holes, but instead of making it round, you could hike it up a little higher to make the mushroomy shape. Or, a cheapr, quicker, no-sew way... you could just make two identical mushrooms on cardboard and make a 2D costume, like those people handing out fast food coupons on the street. You know, sign-boards or whatever they call them.
