Hi everyone!  I was just curious if anyone would be interested in a third round of the Frugal Living Swap. Smiley

For those who haven't participated, it's a swap where we make things to help out keeping on budget: making reusable things for the kitchen, bath, and home (basically anything so we don't have to buy it!) and inspirational things to help us stay into being frugal!  We've had a lot of fun these past two rounds!

Frugal Living: Round 1 Info
FL: Round 1 Gallery
Return of the Cheap: Round 2 Info
RotC: Round 2 Gallery

Smiley

I was thinking signups the last two weeks of July (17-31), partners on August 1st with send-outs September 7th (the day after Labor Day weekend in the US).

I've even got a tag-line ready if there are interested parties!

Kaz, how could I possibly resist? the last round tempted me out of Swap retirement and the Frugal swap is soooo much fun. I even have a few Frugal blog links to add to the mix if this one is a go.

So do we get to hear the tag line or are you keeping it secret til signups?!  Wink

You're totally going to have to wait. Cheesy

So do the dates work for everyone?  We can push it back if an October send would be better?

September is fine with me, but I would prefer maybe send outs the week after labor day. I think I may be going out of town for the holiday weekend.

I was thinking this too!  So hmm ... to wait until September to start the swap with send-outs in November?  Or August-October?  Or should this be separate from round 3?

Thoughts?

Hmm tough call, I think you could still have them as separate rounds as you may get different people signing up for the Christmas swap but is 4 rounds in one year too much? that's the question I think.  Wink

How about doing a Frugal Christmas as a different round? If you're not interested, I might know someone who could organize it to give you a break. Wink

Hee.  I do think a Christmas round would be fun, though I may very well need a break by then!  Smiley  I'm wondering, though, since there's not a ton of interest in this round (five of us, it seems ) if it wouldn't be better to just wait for the Holiday version in a few months?

I would love another round, but the timing is off for me.  I have too much on the go in August (and other swaps), so I would prefer if this was a bit later.  I would be okay with a holiday swap, but I am more interested in a general frugal items, and not so much the holiday stuff.
I will watch this thread, and decide when the time comes if it fits for me.

I didn't get to participate in the last round, but I looked at the gallery and got completely obsessed with frugal, reusable crafted items. I made a ton of stuff for myself and my house and I'm still obsessed, so it would be perfect to take part in the next round.

Not sure if anyone posted a link to this site in previous rounds (we shared a whole lotta info didn't we?!) so for those that aren't the 2 round veterans of the frugal swap  Tongue here is a great site.

http://www.frugallifeproject.com/ - Lots of links to in store Freebies and for those of us not in the US they link to lots of freebie print off downloads, and of course there's crafty links too.

I'd be interested...holiday or normal...

I was too busy with wedding things when this was first discussed.  Sister got married July 25th and it was a frugal wedding that looked more expensive than my and DH's $5,000 one and they spent less than $600.  Helps that there church never charges for ceremony and reception fee...

I haven't opened this up yet!  Since we had only slight interest back when I was planning, I was thinking mid/late Sept for sign-ups and early Nov for sending - a sort of holidayish version of Frugal Living.

Smiley

Does that sound good for everyone?

I am so ready for a good swap, especially Christmas related.  I love sharing Christmas cheer, and don't have many to share with!  Or much money LOL!  But I got lots of swap supplies and can sew!

I'd be interested too.  I had lots of fun in Round 2.  Do we know how big of a swap it will be?  I'm starting grad school in September, so I'm not sure if I could do a large swap on top of that.

Ack, sorry, I didn't get a notification.  I was thinking it'd be a 5 point swap (one medium and three smalls or two mediums and one small), but I'm flexible if others want it to be 4 points (one medium, two smalls or two mediums)?

Is everyone still up for this?  I was thinking of opening sign-ups this week or next. Smiley

Time frame:

Signups: whatever day I get it up to Sept. 30
Crafting time: 6 weeks
Send by: November 12

The past two rounds have been 5 points (medium, three smalls or two mediums and one small).  Would this still work?  Is 4 points preferable?  Thoughts?
