Okay so this is three years old now, but I'm a new member.

This is the first wedding cake I ever made (with my younger sister), sheet cakes included. And besides being the first wedding cake, it was the first cake. If you don't count plain cakes like you'd frost while it was still in the pan.

Not the best picture. Stupid me, I didn't take pictures but luckily someone did. This was our wedding gift to the bride.
The wedding cake was made with homemade buttercream, peach flavored white cake and in between each layer is homemade peach filling.
Sheet cakes were chocolate with espresso buttercream, and yellow with vanilla buttercream.
All detail is freehand piping, including the topper. No fondant was present at the baking of this cake.

LOL not impressive at all unless you factor in that we made this in a log cabin in Alaska and transported it on rough roads through the mountains to the brides childhood home.

They are beautiful!  I sometimes wish I had a more non-traditional color for my wedding cake when i see cakes like these.
BTW, my mom used to make wedding cakes to sell, and I understand the long process, and the long bumpy drives!

Peach flavored white cake and homemade peach filling? That sounds so yummy! It looks amazing! Is that a peach in the glass part? (I love peaches.)

It's actually a fake peach in the bubble. It was rather heavy and I was afraid of too much weight if it shifted.

Yes, the filling was made from fresh peaches. And the cake was peach flavored as well. It was less one dimensional than I thought since the filling was fresh the flavors were too.
