This is seriously cool.  I am wondering if some of those skid-proof-do-hickeys for the tub would be good on the soles as both anti-skid and wear-protection.  I have honestly never seen any come off the bottom of a tub-it seems that most people who put it in for their kids back int he 70's and 80's still have it in there tubs right like it was meant to be forever.

Hhhhmmmm....  I went ahead and ordered the book as a birthday gift to myself.  I can hardly wait.  I have one month of crafting left to enjoy bofore I dive back into school and am doing my best to make the most of it!

Those are really cute. I may have to try that because my old flats have seen better days. Wink

They are pretty! I've been wanting to make my own shoes too and have even thought of approaching some traditional shoemaker to teach me!!!

A thought, don't know if it would work.. I saw this instructable to resole shoes, wonder if it would work to make a thicker sole for the flats??  Make a thin layer then glue the thicker foam on.
