i thought i would share the poppet i made for my partner in the geezer swap.  as i started to collect the supplies and put her together it was obvious she was a sea poppet.  there have been some great gibbous outfits up lately (i believe largely due to the recent gibbous swap) and i thought that a gibbous outfit in blues and greens would lend itself to the sea inspired look i was trying to achieve.

i live in portland, but i happened to finish the poppet on the 3rd and we were going to spend the 4th at the coast so i dragged the poppet along for a photo shoot on the beach.  she had to be smuggled in a pillow case so my 2 year old wouldn't see her.  when aria was busy playing in the waves with daddy, i snapped some quick shots.

the little crocheted jellyfish was made by a talented noncraftster friend of mine.  she got a huge kick out of making a toy for a toy.  Smiley

side shot that shows her hair a bit more...i have a hard time sewing on wefts...i have no problem creating the wefts, i just struggle with sewing the suckers on so her hair was done by sewing each strand of yarn onto her head individually.  it actually went rather quickly as its mindless work and i could watch tv at the same time.

back shot, you can see her skirt a little more here.  it was made with strips of various types of cloth and i sewed on tiny treasures like  buttons, a key, some amethyst, and small coral beads.  but you can't really see them because i neglected to take any close up photos of her skirt.  ah well.

she was fun to make.  and i actually have another poppet almost made...she needs her head stuffed and her body assembled...she hasn't told me what she wants to wear yet.  i started making two but then switched over to focusing on the sea one as the send out date started looming.  Smiley

thanks for looking!
