Awww--what a loving memory of her you have in your lovely journal cover!!

It is such a good idea to put special fabrics like that to "art" use...

I think I might have to start my journal cover with scraps from all of my old kimono fabrics!  Many of them have stories that I would want to remember...

Sorry, mine ended up not being a journal, but it is still very "Teesha Moore."  I am sending this for a swap, but it's ok if my partner sees this, as it is one of several extras and there will still be plenty of surprises.  I am sooo tempted to keep it, though.  My pillows transformed into a picture frame:

I just have a business card in there from a local (and delicious) Colombian restaurant for now.

And the back, just for fun (I sewed in a plastic baggie for the photo holder...it is a little crooked, but it works!):

This was so much fun!!  Definitely the first of many for me!  Thanks for all the inspiration and motivation  Grin

Ooh, they're looking wonderful!

I love the alternative uses too, that frame looks wonderful and has inspired me to try something. Just have to see if it works!
I made two wrist cuffs using this technique and it was great for a 'quick fix' project Wink

I love the wrist cuff idea!

As for a needle, I think I am going to go pick up some hand quilting needles. I always spend forever in the craft store reading every package anyway so I never really thought I looked lost... just informed Wink

I got my dining room table back (long story LOL) so now I can start sewing up the starter pillows this weekend Cheesy. And hubby got paid so I can get some stuffing. I cleaned out my fabric and sewing stash because I hadn't been using it for a few months. So I don't have a whole lot right now. What type of thread have you guys been using to do the hand quilting?

I think I am going to do small embellishments after the quilting but wait for the larger pins and buttons until I see how I am going to use the pillows. Its more of a I don't want them to get in the way while I am attaching all of these together.

what kind of playing cards do you find?? This intrigues me.. I would love to see what you are talking about.

That's a great idea! They make cute tags too...cute everything really, I have a bit of an obsession. One of my favourite t-shirts is the front and back of a playing card! Cheesy

This is the cover for a little folder I keep all the playing cards I find on the street in. I've been collecting them since 1995 so I have quite a few now Smiley

Wrist cuff=AMAZING! I can see a belt too. Or a very small bunch for a pendant or brooch (round ones?), or a HAT! Hat band? Key fob, piccie frames for sure, fridge magnet, door sign, light switch cover, holiday wreath, fabric basket/box, wallet, inchies and ATCs, wall art, mini quilts (or big ones) Oh My Gosh! Endless inspiration, someone should give that girl a medal! Has anyone linked her to this thread yet? Should do, for sure, what a wonderful thing to have shared with others!

love the wrist cuffs.
Great list of possibilities. I really want to make a fabric box once I'm done with my folder cover.
