Teesha Moore Type Journal.. anyone want to play??

I have all my mini pillows ready to be embroidered and embellished and put together into a journal based on Teesha's tutorials found here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Cm4RoEsgl0&feature=related  I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in stitching along with me and make their own teesha moore journal?? Here's the cover of one I did for my daughters bday:

Oh wow!  I just watched her videos after seeing phizzy's art doll! I am so into trying this out - but I'm afraid I'm way behind you - haven't even gathered up which fabrics I want to use (I was thinking I'd make one for my sister's birthday) Sounds like great fun!

I'm already ahead of you, darling! I started stitching my pillows a week ago! I'll get some pics and post 'em when I have a free moment.

That's ok!! We don't necessarily have to be at the exact same spot. You would be surprised how quickly those little pillows come along too. It makes it easier that things don't have to be all exact. I don't do well with detailed and precise patterns or instructions anyway. If I can help in any way just let me know :-)

well i hope she appreciates it.. she turned 10.. Im sure she will appreciate it a lot more later.. when she realizes she is not smarter than me and I know a thing or two .. you know.. when she's no longer a teenager :-)  and her own children are driving her nuts LOL That was my first one.. so it's very novice.. but that no rules is more freeing than I ever thought.. I have not been able to return to cross stitch (something I did for years) because I have grown so accustomed to no rules or patterns in most of my embroidery (except the tinted linens stuff) :-)  Here are my little "pillows" ready to go for this stitchalong :-)

ckinh - did you leave the raw edges on yours?  I can't quite tell from the pic - I know in the videos she said you could do it either way.....

Yeah I did it just like she did - fold it over and did I whip stitch around to hold the edges down .. Not really trying to hide raw edges but sometimes it does hide them.

I am definitely wanting to try this, too.  Also watch the vids.  Feeling very inspired.  Now to just find the time.  Great job, cklnh, I love your journal!!
