I recently participated in a Vampire swap. My partner gave me a ton of freedom when it came to crafting with the vampire theme. I decided to do a vampire hunting kit.

My biggest concern was finding something to hold all my treasures. I first bought a big suitcase from Goodwill and painted it to look like leather. It looked(s) really awesome, but ended up being way too big. Then, while at work, my sympathic coworker stole an incredible box that looked like a suitcase from someone's desk. I was very excited, as it was perfect. She forgot to tell me that she stole it from someone's desk and he pitched a fit (over a box). So of course I gave it back. That night I went to Michael's and found 2 artist boxes for $7.99. SCORE! I painted it with dark brown paint and wiped it off. Then I glued on the cross that I had also purchased at Michaels and painted. After that I splattered blood on it, and made bloody hand prints.

Here's the entire kit and kaboodle. Starting from the lid, there's a 1926 German bible, above that there's a sheet where our dear vampire hunter kept a record of his kills, to the right there's maps (stolen from the back of the bible) that have circles where vampires are believed to be lurking, and Xs where vampires have been killed. There are also 2 stakes ready for action. They've been aged and blood stained.

In the bottom, there is a long handheld stake, a dagger, a couple of images on picking out vampires, a wooden cross, and a mallet to hammer in the stakes from the lid.

In addition, what vampire hunter kit is complete without numerous bottles of mysterious substances? In this kit, we have a bottle of crushed garlic, purified salt, consecrated earth, holy water, and a final jar filled with the ash's of our vampire hunter's beloved Elizabeth. I included her wedding ring (made from polymer) - tied to the jar that contains Elizabeth's ashes. As you can imagine, the vampire hunter's wife (whom he adored) was turned into a vampire and he had to kill her. Sad!

Finally we have a silver crucifix, for all those times when a silver crucifix is necessary. And some helpful print offs that have been aged.

This is so amazingly cool!  I'm sure your partner loved it.  I would very much like to steal it, but will try to resist the temptation.

Steal away! Improve upon it too. I wish I had more stuff to put in it, but by time I got to the point that I finished, I could do NO MORE! I found a mirror that I had purchased for it after I got home from my partner's (we met in person) - ooooh well!

I really like how the bottles came out. They smell good too! I only had a cinnamon candle around, so they smell like Christmas.

I love it! I also love that you didn't just make a vampire hunting kit but you made up an entire story to go with it.
