I wanted to work on my sketchbook tonight but sitting at the computer is about all I have the energy for....  I forgot (until about a week ago) that I had a dentist appointment today.  Which means I also forgot what they were going to me when I got there.  So....  long story short (because y'all don't want to hear about my teeth - I know) my face HURTS!  And I'm going to be restricted to mashed potatoes and soup for a while.  All I want to do is sit in this comfy chair and contemplate a nap.  Yes - a nap - even though I'm going to bed in like...  4 hours or so.  Roll Eyes

I've been keeping my stories on my blackberry and anything I'd need so I'd be completely portable (I dont like taking my laptop to school, its heavy. >_< ) and I was drawing, right? Well... Guess who discovered she was missing the pictures of the rundown old abandoned barn on her phone but instead had them on her laptop??? THIS GAL! D: But I got some more of the art done. It's definitely going to be close though. I hope that tomorrow is a snow day or at least a late start day!!!

Okay, long story short (I hope) but I spent a little of Xmas bonus money on crafty stuff from the Craftster web store link thing - from Joanne's. San Francisco does not allow "big box" stores so Joanne's seem like Mecca to me. I bought the Martha Stewart ABC punches and they arrived today. So 3 hours of punching, sorting letters, gluing letters, finished two more pages. But I have lots of glue under my fingernails.

Will post pics tomorrow from work - still can't find my g*&%^$& software for my camera to add to new laptop.
Feeling pleased about finishing but beginning anxiety about binding without ruining....

Oh, and I invented a nifty holder for the little letters.

hey all,

ive been watching everyones progress and all your pages look fantastic ! Smiley thanks for sharing photos of them.

ive been hard at work on my sketchbook and have done 46 pages. My aim is 50 pages so I have 1 week to get the other 4 done, plus the cover - before the postal date.

...I just knew Id never get up to 80 pages Tongue but I think 50 pages is good enough. hehe, thinking of that many things that 'Im sorry I forgot' was running a bit thin afterall Tongue

Next step is filling in the little brief biography on myself..not sure what Im going to write at this stage...

I wish I'd have checked this out sooner! Now the sign-ups are closed! I hope I can do this next time around! I did notice, the same site has a photo share tour, and signups are going to March 31. I just sent my brother a link. He's a really talented photographer.

Promised pics. This is the cover, not all glued. And obviously, missing the words "Great Hopes and Massive Failures", my name and something else.

So I redid my first page and added to the other half of the spread - love rubber stamp alphabets!

Another redo:

Okay some new stuff. A two-page spread using my punched-out letters. I plan to fill the crossword puzzle with other words for "peace" and I love the Colette quote and my groovy fashion ladies:

Another two-pager. The art and the hand belong to my workmate's daughter - she's always ready to pitch in whenever I need something:

Last photo, I love this photo - I may add a crown to the little girl.

But wait - here's my super-fancy punched-out letter holder!

And I went thru my envelopes of stuff from the Sketchbook swap and found so much to add - I'll have glue on my fingers for the next week.

I love your pages and cover! You have chosen some fantastic quotes! I really like the Emily Dickinson page.
I am also excited that you posted your super-fancy punched out letter holder. I have been collecting cut out letters from magazines into a bag and trying to figure out a way that isn't too obnoxious to store them - I may need to make my own super-fancy letter organizer (and a couple more omelets...)

I'm working on finishing page 3. I added a little more detail to Mana's hair on pages one and two. Page three is slow because one of the panels is of an old barn. Well... Y'see, this old barn that I'm drawing is actually very real Cheesy I live in the middle of nowhere and a few years ago, I was wandering my neighborhood with an old Nikon and was taking pictures of things that I could use as reference shots for stuff, and I decided to go to this old barn that was very rundown. There used to be two of them by each other when I was little, but the guy who owns them burned down one of them. So now there's just one. But anyways, I got like a million shots of it, so I dug them up on my laptop and I've been using them so I don't have to sit outside the old barn in the cold and try to draw it that way XD I suck at drawing buildings, so it's taking me a while for this. Page four needs some of it too. After that I'll be speedy and then once I have this story done, I may revise my idea.

Instead of having two or three stories in this, depending on page and time, I may use left over pages for character art and extras, ^_^ Then I'll leave the remaining blanks as sort of a guestbook haha. Totally a stolen idea but so brilliant.
