What mysterious sticker did you get?

Oh wow!  I just stumbled across this thread....totally not reading all 102 pages to catch up...sorry!


I'm doing this and Adhere to Me is my theme.  I've had my book for weeks and haven't done anything but hold it, flip through the pages and wonder what the mysterious sticker is that I got with mine.

Can I still 'participate' in this CAL?  ::pretty please?::

This is the mysterious sticker that I got that I cannot figure out what it's for.  I have several friends that are participating in this project and I'm the only one that got this:

Any ideas what this is?

This is what I have of my sketch for the 1st page... Mana Librada is laying on the grass, finally coming back to consciousness... Although with this sketch she looks more like she's running up the side of the page XDDD

Nooo - I'm sorry you're not able to craft much, I hope your surgery makes things better.

I got 3 more pages done, but I got a new job where I sit at a computer for a lot of the day, so I haven't wanted to check in on craftster much. I'll share more soon.

Full Moon - I love how it looks like she's running up the book!  I know that's not the way the finished page will look, if she's laying on grass...but for now it makes an interesting sketch to look at!

Okay, so I need advice and now I'm so scared of messing the whole thing up that I don't really want to get started again...agh!  My original cover is really messed up along the spine from when I sewed it on the sewing machine.  My machine's longest stitch wasn't long enough; it just kind of perforated the pages and they ripped out.  Now my cover has tiny holes in the spine and they're ripping.  I need to fix it somehow but I'm not sure what to do next.  I was thinking about a few different ways I could handle it...

One way, I could leave it alone and just cover it with clear packing tape.  Then when I (finally) rebind (again) the tape would act like the spine, in the places where the book is too holey to actually hold up.  It probably wouldn't look very pretty, but it wouldn't look awful either, and it is, after all, a sketchbook...

Or, I could take the cover apart right down the spine and glue it onto a different cover with a perfect spine.  This is the way I'm kind of leaning toward, only because I think it will look better.  I was just going to use heavy weight card stock or something like that.  That way, the original cover would still be there but I'd have a fresh spine to start with.

Is anyone else having this issue or was I the only dork who ruined my book?

ETA:  Nevermind the questions!  I already figured it out and did it lol.  I just covered the cover with pretty scrapbook paper.  That sticker peeled off a lot easier than I thought it would, so I just took it off and put it back on top of the scrapbook paper.  I also added another paper to the inside cover because it had gotten all yuckified.

Hopefully I can take a quick pic tomorrow and show you guys what I've been up too...this is getting fun again, yay!

I used a fabric gaffer tape on my spine. I think I used this kind...

I was going to suggest bookbinders tape or fabric glued on. I am going to pamphlet stitch mine back together - maybe 2 groups of stitches or 3 - and I thought I might reinforce the spine with fabric or tape - depending on how fat the final pages turn out to be.

I love that gaffer tape, amaryllisroze, it's so beautiful!  Smmarrt, I hadn't thought of gluing fabric on.  I don't think I'll need anything extra now but I'll be keeping that in mind for sure!
