Who says drawing isn't creative?  It's what creative is to YOU...it's your book and you can do whatever makes you happy in it...it's all for you!!  No comparisons allowed! (And if that sounds like a well rehearsed speech, it's because it is, I have been telling myself the same thing...)

Why am I telling myself that?  Because...thanks to an AMAZING and so incredibly generous friend of mine here on Craftster...I get to do this project!!  I am so excited!  My theme is Storybook and I can NOT wait for my book to get here, I am beyond stoked about this.  I am only about 4 hours from San Fransisco too so there is a good chance I will be able to make it to the exhibit!!  Yay!!   Grin

well I signed up Smiley  I'm excited and part of me is wondering what I've gotten myself into - I've never tried a project like this - so I picked the theme - "it will be fun I swear"

oh and the size is in the rules - now I'm wondering how many pages.....................  of course people have said they glue two together - that would cut it down <G>

Your book must remain within the dimensions of 5.5 x 8.5 inches. It can open up to something wonderful (of any size), but it must fold down to the original dimensions. You are welcome to unbind, rebind or alter the book in (almost) any other way. If you want to use a thicker stock of paper, go for it!

I love that we have chosen such a wide variety of themes! I think I'll go through the thread and make a list of everyone who's participating, and what theme they chose. I'll put it up on the front page, in the first post. If I happen to miss you, or if you don't want your theme listed, or you didn't post your theme but would like it included in the list, let me know.  Smiley

babs, quit stalling and join the project!

I joined I joined  Grin!

Jumped in with both feet!

My theme is I'm a scavenger. Really debated on Facing Forward but thought the scavenger fit me better. I also went with the online digitizing. That way it can be viewed online as well, how cool.

Curious as to what cover color everyone went with. Why was that so hard for me. I chose the light gray but wanted the kraft brown that it did NOT come in.

I'm guessing these journals have 40 papers, (so it has 80 surfaces) like their smaller cousins and the lined one I have sitting here isn't really as flimsy as I had thought although will definitely be putting some pages together. The thought of doing 40 spreads is a bit daunting to say the least.

BethieB I agree, you do have an amazing friend!

You not only joined, you are doing the same theme as I am!  Cheesy

I wanted the craft brown cover too, but picked black. I'll most likely do a collage and cover it anyway.

I think scavenger fits us both well Racky!!

It's funny, I know that my cover color will never see the light of day but darnit, I really wanted the kraft brown...I'm so strange, hehe.

Good choice Phizzy!

This would be such a huge challenge for me, I'm not by any means an artist, but I find myself strangely compelled to join.  I'm not going to yet.  I don't have time in the summer to even think about something like this, but if I'm still compelled in October and they haven't run out of books...  definitely.  I need to stretch a little in the winter, I feel like I'm starting to atrophy.

If I were to pick a topic today it would be First Thing in the Morning, Last Thing At Night and I would pick the blue cover.   Grin

I'm pretty sure I picked the black cover, but really don't remember.

It will be great to see what everyone comes up with. Should we just post pages as we finish them, in new replies, or should we do it some other way?
