maybe it would help leakage to immediately blot (or heat-gun) what you paint? and/or sticking paper towels behind the pages you're working on, tucked as far into the spine as possible. or maybe there's a way masking fluid could be used? i can't wrap my brain around how it would work for this kind of problem, but maybe someone else can.  Smiley

(but yeah, i kinda like the bleed-through effect of the color, even if it wasn't intended!)

I am with racky--my pages are not bound yet so I have been doing backgrounds one sheet at a time (or two at a time if I do both halves)...I did notice some leakage from the front to the back, but I kinda like it so I am not worrying too much about it...Aroz...I think your page background looks terrific!

I got a box for my journal and just threw in a bunch of supplies...I am still doodling on scraps and then working at home so at least everything is together in one place.

I've tried the paper towel thing. I'll just keep playing with it. If I come up with any brilliant solutions that work, I'll definitely share them.

Good idea with the box Always~ I may have to steal that one from ya!  I am constantly losing everything, including my favorite pens for my journal, so a box would solve some of my issues...just not the issue of no time or energy to work on this thing as often as I need to!  I failed and don't have anything new to post this week yet, sorry guys.  I'm hoping to get to work on it this evening but my schedule has gotten all kinds of crazy lately so I don't know if I'll be up to it...but I have lots of ideas germinating so it won't be long!!  Smiley

I finally got my paper this evening!  I stopped by AC Moore on the way home from school's open house (saw lots of my kids from last year!  Cheesy) and used a 40% off coupon on my 98lb paper for the sketchbook!  yay!  And whatever I don't use in the sketchbook can be used for my own journal!  Maybe Saturday morning or Sunday I'll finally get a chance to sit down and take my sketchbook apart and get started with some pages!  Grin

I also bought a pad of paper - Strathmore Artagain assorted tints - "a fiber-enhanced paper ideally suited for soft pastels and charcoal." I fondled all the sketchbooks and pads and this one felt right to me - for gluing, painting and sewing.
I am going to buy some artists' canvas also and add in some fabric pages so I can make mini-quilt pages, more like appliqued pages. I have some quotes and song lyics for page ideas. Now to dive in.....yikes!

And I have a crazy idea to leave the last two pages blank for Craftster friends to sign....too high school?

Yay!!! mine finally shipped! I am always so busy, so I actually plan to jot down ideas and do quick sketches in my own notebook whenever something strikes me, then set aside sketchbook time a couple times a week to work on finishing pages.  I had to clean out my work/craft area and got everything organized, with a couple giant mugs for loose pens and such.

I told my nieces about wanting to add pages that their kids did and now they want to each do one as well!  Smmarrt, I think it is great to include special things relating to family and friends...they are a big part of our lives so why not!?

I have done basically more background pages since my wrist injury in preventing me from doing fine details and such...hopefully, this weekend will be a time of mucho crafting and sketching to catch up!
