Today is the last day (Monday Nov. 15th) to sign up for the sketchbook project. So if you have any friends sitting on the fence, today is the day. (Just had an email from arthousecoop.)

I'm still enthusiastic, just a bit overwhelmed with life at the moment. I'm actually a bit afraid that once I get started I won't be able to stop working on it.

Next week, I have several hours to kill before an evening of parent conferences. I may bring some stuff to school and use my big science tables to work on- I still haven't glued my pages together! And then, I'll have a day or two over Thanksgiving break to do some painting. I also just took a short Zentangle class (although I missed the last one because I was sick last week), so I may add some tangles to my pages. And, I registered for an online stamp carving class to pick up some new techniques and there is one I'm waiting to try- I have all of the supplies, I just need the free moments without something else more pressing.

The ideas are percolating and are just about ready to boil over!

rackycoo, can't wait to see some pictures of your newest pages! Great idea to scavenge the talents of your friends!

I am with you on this. When I first signed up, I was so excited that I was dreaming about it. Now, I am feeling very apathetic about it... I think that I may rip out the couple of pages that I have started and give myself a COMPLETELY new start and go in a different direction. Maybe that will help?
I am sure that once I get moving I will be fine... I just need to keep my expectations realistic - it may not be a spectacular journal, but I just want it to be fun!

I didn't lose my enthusiasm in the project, I think I just lost my confidence and am getting really freaked out by the thought of other people looking at my book.  So I guess I lost my enthusiasm in myself?

I did just come across another binding method that I'm going to practice to see if it works better...I am still cringing at the thought of having to poke holes and all of that, so if this works I will be so stoked.

I had been kind of apathetic about mine for a while (could be that extra long deadline!), but I'm all excited to get some done now. I'm hoping to work on it during the holidays. I'll try to get some pics done today. It was so dark and rainy here all day yesterday; I couldn't get a good photo.

Mine has been stashed away for a while. I've dragged it out and blown the dust off it, so that's a start Cheesy

I go in stages...but the more I have to do, the less my crafting mojo gets turned on...I have cleared my "have to do" list and now am looking forward to many days of working on my pages!!

Yeah--once I get started, I go in streaks...I just hope my streaks last long enough to get down before I crash! Cheesy

Here are a couple of the pages I did with my friends this weekend. I had already done the page on the right, and let a friend of mine do the page on the left. I love the way she let the hand overlap on the already done page:

And here's another page, this one done mostly with parts I received from the Sketchbook supplies swap, and some of the many scraps that are always cluttering up my desk. I don't think this one is finished, but it's close.

Making progress!

I also like what your friend did...almost like she planned it to go with your page! Cheesy
