So i decided on the first day of entries that this challenge would be my first craftster challenge and my first craftster post.  But boy did I wait til nearly the last minute.

I live on an island so it was hard to find a sheet that I could use that wasn't wretched or cost hundreds of dollars so...I ended up with this:

It is a plaid flannel top sheet that I found for only three dollars among all the faded, bleach stained sheets at our very tiny hospital thrift shop.

I put together shorts, a swim suit, and a skirt.  I have only ever made skirts and done hems before this challenge so I decided to really branch out with the shorts and swimsuit.  I didn't use any patterns I just kinda went at the sheet with scissors and an idea.

On to the photos:

Swimsuit: Kinda reminds me of burberry's print; I used some red scrap fabric I had for the ties and the liner.
This was a lot easier to put together than I even thought possible.

Shorts:Ta front closure and banded cuffs and waist.

Side View: to give you an idea of how bloomer-y they are.

And Finally the Skirt: It is very full and has slash pockets on either side made with the red fabric that trimmed the swimsuit.  It is super comfy and also has a tab closure but on the side.

Thanks to my boyfriend for taking the shots for me while we were at the beach (he is that other shadow).

Hope you like it.

C & C welcome Smiley

Oh Gosh!
Everything is soooo cute!
I cannot believe that you didn't use a pattern on the bathing suit! If your first Craftster post is this good, I cannot wait to see what else you come up with!

Wow! This was going to be my first post/challenge also, but it was mostly a fail.  I also tried to make shorts without a pattern and just couldn't get it right.  You did fantastic, and everything looks great!
