This really is the most awesome thing I've ever seen. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside -- and like the others, I want to run out and get one of those houses. I don't have a Michael's ... I hope they sell them at Hobby Lobby. Thank you so much for all the inspiration and the wonderful photos.

BTW, it reminded me of how I imagine Mr. Tumnus' house when I read "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." Or the house from "Fantastic Mr. Fox"!

This is SOOOOO totally wisted!!!  I absolutely adore it.  I think it's a super idea to start with a premade form and embellish it to your heart's content.  Forgive me for not reading all 5 pages, got a ton of work to do today, but I must ask...HOW did you knit that teeny little green piece on the chair??!  Toothpicks?  I am in awe of the care, creativity and TIME you obviously had to dedicate to this piece.  You have one lucky partner indeed!!

Thanks! I'm glad I used the kit for the house because if I'd done it from scratch it would have been sent super late. As it was I was a few days late sending.

The knitting... I tried knitting with the jewelry posts I used as needles but my fingers aren't nearly nimble enough and the frustration just about killed me. So the knitting isn't really knitting, it's teeny weeny crochet slipped onto the posts. MUCH easier.

Oh, this is terribly delightful. I love real world things in there - I'd love to have giant chess pieces on my porch! And in general, I wish I could move it. Whimsical and beautiful.
