Hi!

Yesterday, in not more than an hour, i did this bangle, and I find it so easy to make, so iI wanted to share it with you ^^

All you need is: a plastic bangle, aluminium autoadhesive tape, alcohol inks, acrilics, and some metallic markers...

The process cant be easier: you have to cut two straps of the aluminum tape and cover the bangle, both the outside and the inside. Then, you have to polish it really good, with a metal spoon for example. Now you have the base for have fun: take the inks and play! When you have a background that you like, then you can add some flowers with the acrilics and markers... Thats all! Well, of course you can varnish it ^^

Here I let you some pics of the process:

Hope you liked it! What do you think about it?

I saw this on the front page and knew I was going to love it!  That is really, really cool.  I just wish I had stolen my dad's roll of metallic tape last time I was visiting home now  Smiley

Thanks! I understand you, I use to think like that too, lots of times... I bought the metallic tape on a dollar shop, in case you want to try without going your dads place first  Cheesy

What are alcohol inks? And did you have to seal your finished paint?

BTW-this rocks!!!

Thanks! Snooglerat yes its really fun, you know, for me easiest things are the funniest ^^ stafishtaylz, alcohol Inks are inks with an alcohol base, for example the Piata brand ones you can see in the picture. There are more brands, but I dont know them... i like them cause theyre very bright and traslucent, and they set and dry really fast, but i think that in case you dont find them, you can try any other kind of ink. And yes, you can seal the paint, with clear varnish of your choice, or with modge podge, for example... hope this helps! ^^

I love it!  The blending of colours is so beautiful.  Thanks for the instructions too.

A few questions, did you overlap the tape edges, or cut them to make a close seam?  Also, where did you get your alcohol inks/what brand are they?  I seem to have so much trouble finding them in my neck of the woods and I can't help but wonder if it is how I am searching for them.  Finally, what did you seal it with?

Thanks everybody!

Onyxnox, Ive edit with step by step pics, but if you have any question of the process, ask again ok? ^^ I bought the Piata Inks in Barcelona, but if you make a search i think youll find them easily... and I used an acrilic varnish to seal it.

Thanks again!

This looks SO cool I'm going to have to try it - thanks for posting the tutorial, you rock!

Pinata inks are available in the US too, but it is easier to find the Tim Holtz Adirondack alcohol ink by Ranger in places like Michaels, Hobby Lobby etc any scrapbooking store will probably have them too.  They are really good and used to cost just a couple of bucks a bottle.

Love them! Especially the first one (but I think I said that before in a comment here too Cheesy )
so it only works with inks? I'm thinking if it would work with aquarel paint since it's translucent too ... hm but I don't think the water will stick to the aluminium ... hehe

That came out so cool! I am impressed by how you were able to transform it. I'm always in awe of people armed with paintbrushes. I am ok with painting as long as I'm painting a large area, you know, like a wall, with a roller brush. Haha!

Really nice job!!!!

Your bracelets are beautiful.

I wonder if sharpie markers would work on the foil?  Because I have tons of different colours of those.  Then I was thinking that the mod podge would maybe mess the marker up on the foil.  I may try it and see though still haha.

I love the finished look of this!  And just FYI, for those asking, you can find alcohol inks in the stamping sections at Hobby Lobby.

Awesome!  I am going to have to try this!
