I've been looking at everyone's awesome designs, and finally decided to get the courage to post one of my original creations.

It's pretty simple, and inspired by Wash from Firefly. It's actually a quote from the movie.

The leaves are just a freehand design of my own, done in one strand so they blend into the background a bit. I wanted it to look like they were blowing across the quote (not sure if I achieved that, but really happy with how it turned out!)

Thanks for looking!

Great job with this. I  think you've accomplished the 'blowing across the quote' feel quite well.  Cheesy

(And *sob* Wash!)

That's lovely and yes, you definitely gave the impression that the leaves were blowing across the words.

Thanks everyone!
And yes, Wash was taken too soon, LOL! I got a bit teary about that one, Joss always manages to kill off my favourite characters, but I always go back for more!

Nice!  The leaves really do look like they're blowing across the cross-stitch.  I like the font you used, too (is it your handwriting?): really serene Smiley

I wish my handwriting was that neat!
No, it's from the font generator at Stitch point.

A great resource for anyone designing their own things, I use it all the time. The one I used on this design is 'Monaco'.

Thanks everyone for your nice words!
