Instead of crafting the things I'm supposed to be crafting, I made this.
I used a tutorial that Tim Holtz has on his blog.

(its about the same size as an ATC)

they are his ideology pieces -- a lot of local scrapbook stores, michaels, archivers, etc carry them Smiley

Beautiful! Is the heart 3D, or did you just paint it to appear that way? And if it is 3D, how did you get the exact same part of the dictionary page onto the heart? Inquiring minds want to know.

The key holes and keys come in a set of 6 (I think. It might be 8, though) Because I was feeling unoriginal and that key hole fit best on the heart, I followed his lead.

I bought an old dictionary at a thrift store the other day and managed to get it placed just right (and not upside down or backwards! I know...shocking! I was a bit stunned myself  Cheesy ). Under it is a grunge board heart. I glued it to the canvas using Claudine Hellmeth's Multi Medium and the glued the page on top of it, also using the medium. I rubbed it down around the edges of the heart so it would stand out more.

It just occurred to me that I should have posted a link to his instructions on the blog. I pretty much followed it step for step. I did add the copper wire over the top of the heart on my own, though.
