Have you ever been on a scooter or a convertible single seater space cruiser? Me either. The other day at the traffic junction, I saw this guy riding a pink scooter. He looked like a regular guy; jeans, t shirt, nondescript black helmet and then PINK SCOOTER.
As the light turned green, I went away wondering if he was really so self assured, or if he really needed a ride and borrowed his girlfriend's scooter. Who knows. I think might have ridden a pink bicycle if I was desperate enough to get somewhere without walking for miles. I am not sure if my pastel green leotards would clash with it though.
Anyway, I am wasting precious time. Here is the little scooter guy I made.

these figurines are about 2.5 inches tall. I don't use armatures because its already so small. I haven't really tried using different coloured clay because its cheaper to buy super sculpey in one big piece then paint it later.
I guess because acrylic paint gives me a lot more freedom... coloured clay is expensive. With the acrylic paint its only 99 cents a bottle to use for a long time. Also some of the detail is very tiny so I can't use clay to replicate it.
I have seen some astounding jewellery work with coloured clay... but I haven't really ventured there. Maybe someday I might start wearing jewellery... I dunno lol
lol you are up already! do you not sleep? hahaha

its actually late (!!) i get up at 5.30am have a cuppa and check this forum - then dash and prepare packed lunches for hubby and son who start work at 8am and leave home at 7am. younger son is on school hols or else he would have the same timetable and i would have a third lunch to prepare. yes i'm an early bird!! ( can't you see the worms
)
yes fimo is pricey...but i find i get better results from using different colours...and also the way you can mix them to produce effects is amazing (haven't done that yet tho)
oooh they are tiny figures - i thought they were larger!!! omg how did you manage all those teeny details!!!
oh you're still up?? don't you sleep?
must must must go and do the lunches and drag the still sleeping son out of bed......

I am loving your ideas and creations - and the stories you post with them !
I am the same as you - I prefer to paint my sculpey rather than buy it in colours.
I think if I tried to do it in coloured clay Id get the colours all meshed in and messy
