Those are awesome.  I'm going to show that to my gf next time she complains about my pack-ratting of craft supplies. XD

This is a very cool idea.  Did you paint the canvases black first? I'm trying to figure out the edge treatments.

I did paint the edges black. The canvases were the slightly-more-expensive "Artist Canvases": they are about an inch thick at the sides with no staples showing. I cut my backgrounds a little small so that about 1/4" of the black edge would show on the front. After I glued down the collages with PVA glue, I sprayed them several times with some Krylon UVA protection spray fix. Hopefully that will keep everything from getting dusty and fading in the sun.

They are beaut-eeee-ful! I love that you used so many sweet things that have real meaning. My faves are the dancing guys in no. 5 and number 8.

One of the things I love best about collage is that you can put things down and rearrange them until they work. Nothing is permanent until you say so.

I had these lying around on the floor for about two weeks. I'd keep coming back to them and changing them around until I was happy with them. Occasionally I'd remove something that I really wish could have stayed, but some things were just not meant to be. Bottom line, don't think you can't do it! It's all a matter of trial and error.  Smiley

They turned out so well! If I *had* to pick a favorite (you know, if you threatened me with bodily harm or something if I didn't), it would be #7. Love everything about it!

Thanks very much for the info about your edge treatment.  It makes a great background for your collages. I collage a lot like you do, laying elements on and waiting for them to "tell me" if it's right.  Some people may know instantly but not me.
