As a side note, I think I made a dress in this exact same material, and I was going to use this same pattern, but changed it to a new look pattern instead.
Yours looks awesome!

VERY cute! I quilt and sew purses, too, and I have actually been dying to make a dress. I actually have 2 McCall patterns in my craft room but I've been to nervous to try them! Also, I don't have a dress form and am convinced I need one to make clothing. Did you use one?

Hahaha! I just picked this pattern up yesterday and what do you know. I, too, chose blue polka dots! Wow, great minds think alike, eh?

They sure do!  I also noticed on the pattern I had that one of the models was made from a blue polka dot fabric  Smiley.  But I don't think this influenced me since I had picked out the fabric first.

I think a cherry print fabric would be really cute too...

A cherry print would be great!  I also saw some very cute fabric with strawberries, that would make a super cute sundress.

VERY cute! I quilt and sew purses, too, and I have actually been dying to make a dress. I actually have 2 McCall patterns in my craft room but I've been to nervous to try them! Also, I don't have a dress form and am convinced I need one to make clothing. Did you use one?

I was also a bit nervous to make the leap from making purses to making dresses.  But if you find a nice easy pattern to start with, it's not so bad.  I didn't use a dress form to make this, I just tired it on (with help from my husband) to check the sizes.  I don't think you need a dress form to sew clothes, but it does help.  After I made this, I had a friend who was kind enough to sell me her old dress form super cheap!

Gorgeous! It definitely has a 50's retro pinup vibe, especially with the cute polka dots.
I'm jealous, I've wanted to make a dress like this for the longest time!
I think I'm going to have to pick that pattern up myself and give it a go, seeing how fabulous this dress turned out.
