i'm wanting to make a floorcloth. i'm going to make it out of artists canvas because that is what i have (wish i could afford to just use scrap linoleum - that seems to be the best, but no $$) i think i have a pretty good understanding of how to go about it (fold the edges under and tape, sew, or glue - prime, paint, and seal) but i was wondering if anyone had any helpful tips before i get started...has anyone made one? is there anything i need to know? thanks!

Make sure you have all the folds out of the cloth before you prime.  Once you prime, they are stuck forever.  Also, if you have furniture on it, expect a perminate dent where the furniture was.  Also, if you are taping your design off, get a masking tape with a good adhesion because I've had problems with leakage under the tape.  I reseal mine about once a year but it is in a traffic area.  They clean up well (after sealing) with a bit of water and a sponge btw.

THANK YOU!! i started on it yesterday - it's already getting some traffic as the dog doesn't seem to understand it's not ready for walking on yet. i'll post pics if i ever get it done.
