This is how two gorgeous lap quilts were defined today at my sons' school fete Angry
both were lovely warm colours and machine quilted in stipples...I was hoping to win one of those (can you have to many quilts) but was unlucky(double Angry)
The ignorance of the speaker was abysmal though he said "tea towels, cloths er quilt thingy...I prefer to sleep in a duvet myself...ha ha".
I nearly went to the tent to choke the idiot gentleman, but DH wanted to go home so I didn't really have the time Wink
I felt pain for the nice talented lady who spent all this time making 2 super quilts to GIVE to the school for their raffle.

must calm down now...maybe a piece of chocolate would help

back to quilting...hurray and I dusted my art material Cheesy

I feel your pain. I just got more praise for two bags I whipped up in a rush to hold my camera gear than for the quilts I've made, at a family reunion. Apparently you can "just buy a quilt at walmart if you want one"... *headdesk*

Aw, that's awful! I hope whoever was lucky enough to win them had a kind word for her. And someone told the announcer that he was a tool!

Yikes.  I hope the quilter wasn't there!  I would have been devastated!

Sorry you weren't lucky enough to be one of the winners!  At least you would have treated them properly.

I have a feeling that she WAS there Cry but one of the winner really loved it and will treasure it for years to come fortunately.

If it were my quilt, I would have cried.

Shouldn't these things be labeled though, so the announcer doesn't have to guess?  Like if someone made a cake they could write: "Lemon cake with cream cheese frosting & lemon curd filling" So they wouldn't just say "Uh.... a yellow cake thingy?"

I really hope someone informed the announcer of his gaffe so he could go apologize!
