Victorian Ballet. Oh, how I love ruffles and lace! (with pictures)

So, I may be disqualified since I made more than one dress, but I couldn't help it! I used lace sheets and cotton sheets for the entirety of the dresses! My models are some of my best friends, all ballerinas, so I thought it would be nice to shoot them in the dresses by a lake in their pointe shoes.

These are gorgeous. I love the photos; they have a sort of storylike quality to them (young ballerinas escape their matronly guardian for a day of frolicking in the park, perhaps?)

Lace bedsheets are so rare, I know! I found one at a thrift store in town and my grandmother had one. So, pure luck! It would take some digging but I bet you could find them at a thrift store!

To everyone looking for lace sheets, you might also try looking for "bed toppers."  They would go over your flat sheet but under the bedspread, so that when you folded the bedspread back to would have lace laying over it instead of the sheet.  Some of them have gorgeous trims.  I have one that I thought was a weird table cloth until my grandmother told me what it was.  It has an age spot on it and now I think I have the perfect use for it!
