This is my first post with images in this forum, hope I did it all right.

I had cut these paper feathers for a peacock picture, but I ended up using them to adorn a paper paper lamp.  It looks really cool!

Here's a photo of the lamp after dark:

And here's a photo of another paper sculpture/watercolor of irises.

Wow, those are beautiful! What kind of paper did you use to make the feathers?

Caution_Tape, it's a heavy, handmade paper that I bought at Art Outfitters. I use a small pair of snipping (for want of a better term) scissors by Fiskars, and I cut them freehand, just starting out with a cut and following it.....again, and again, and again Smiley I'll post some more things I did later.  Most people like my roses best.

Ya know, it's funny- a friend is getting married in August and she's incorporated peacock feathers in every aspect from the save the date to the bridal shower invite and decor, to the actual wedding invitation. I feel like I'm seeing peacock feathers everywhere all of a sudden! I helped make the bridal shower invitations and I thought it was time consuming enough to use cardstock, a paper cutter, and a few glue sticks- apparantly, it coulda been a lot more intricate! I definately can't wait to see more of your work  Smiley

Hey, thanks, CT.  It's funny, but for some things like paper cutting I have unlimited patience.  When I was working on the roses, I took sheets of paper and scissors on vacation with us and cut them as we rode along in the car, but for other things, like knitting, I have no patience, just never got the hang of it because I couldn't hang with it long enough to get good.  Go figure.

Oops! I see I broke a rule by posting a link to my blog.  My bad.  Roll Eyes

Thank you, Juliska Smiley I'm a bit of a hoarder, but a neat one, a bin for everything and everything in its bin.  The only junk I ever sold @ a garage sale, I wished for them later. I still have more of these paper feathers.  I'll find a use for them eventually......... ...
