This month we want to embrace the spirit of Craftster, a community where crafters can freely share ideas and inspiration. A huge (and wonderful!) part of our community is the tutorials that are shared here. So your challenge this month is to create a terrific tutorial for an awesome summer project!

What is an "awesome summer project"? It is anything you personally consider 1) awesome and 2) a summer project! For me, it would be a really unique and gorgeous swimsuit, a patio transformed into an amazing tiki bar, or a fresh fruit salad served from an intricately-carved watermelon sculpture complete with a bubbling juice fountain. Cheesy

Obviously an awesome summer project could mean something entirely different to you, though! Let your creative freedom go wild! Since this is the Terrific Tutorials challenge, please keep in mind that readers will be voting for your project based on your tutorial (photos and steps) and your completed project.

For this unique challenge, the requirements are bit more specific than usual, so be sure to read them very carefully:

Craft the project and create the tutorial during this challenge period (Jul 1 - Aug 8, 2010) only. Projects and tutorials created before this timeframe will not be removed from the entry board, but they will be excluded from the voting poll.
Your tutorial must consist of at least 5 photos and 5 steps.
Completed project photo(s) do not count toward your 5 tutorial photos. So if you are making a very simple tutorial, get creative with your photos. Perhaps you could share the step/photo of you gathering your supplies as one of your 5.

Rules:

Post your craft during the period of Aug 2 - Aug 8 2010. No sooner. No later. On Aug 2 there will be a special folder created for entries.
Voting will happen from Aug 9 - Aug 16 2010.
Each participant can enter ONE project (Although your entry can have multiple components to it).

Originality:

It's probably impossible to know whether your project is 100% original, has never been posted on Craftster or made by anyone else in the past. But if your project was definitely inspired by something you've seen before, please give credit to that project.

Prizes:

At the end, I'll set up a poll right here and the first place winner will get...

(1) their project in the Featured Projects area
(2) their project in the Craftster Blog
