I got this lovely flower-power hippie sheet and and pillow case set from a Charity shop a while back - the cotton has gone really really soft and comfy from obviously lots and lots of washing.  Was so excited I ripped into the sheet before I remembered to take a pic - so here's the pillow case ..

I'm going to a wedding this coming weekend - have the kids outfits all finished, and I've got some darling vintage fabric I wanted to make into a 50's style swishy sticky out skirt kind of dress, so I thought I'd experiment first with my beloved old sheet - as I'm a relative beginner sewer and didn't want to mess up my lovely fabric.

However - I like the finished product so much, that I think I'm going to wear this to the wedding instead.  I don't have a white petticoat, so had to put a black one underneath, but with black belt, sandals and hat I think I can get away with it!

Bit of a blurry shot from the front ...

and a slightly better one from the back ...

Have to say I'm in absolute awe of the entries to this challenge  - however, I figure there's room for sewers of all levels and so decided to be brave and share with you all - cos I'm dead proud of it!

Thanks for looking x

I love it. Very Hairspray (the good John Waters one, not the new one). And I'm a new sewer, too... I understand how intimidating it is to post on a forum with so many talented people. Kudos for being brave! It looks great, and if you wouldn't have mentioned you were a beginner, I don't think any of us would've ever guessed. Grin

Well, I love love love the print. You did an excellent job. I wish I could find cool fabrics like that. I think everyone will ask you where you got it or too make them one.

I have a split personality, because you guys crack me up.  AND The best day I ever had was TODAY!
