Finally ... Here are the goodies I got from craftylittlemonkey. I loved everything and it was so neat how she used so many different techniques to craft for me.
This is what I found when I opened up the box. There was a ton of monarch butterflies and I was so excited to start digging through all of the crafty stuff.

There was a card on top and I opened it very first. When I opened it I got a big surprise lol A butterfly came fluttering out and actually made me jump  Grin Craftylittlemonkey put a paper butterfly in the envelope that had a rubber band attached to it. So when I opened it up it just flew right out. It is very neat and the first time I have ever seen one of those.
There was a really neat spy bag in there for my girls. It was in the shape of a butterfly and looked store bought. We have had a lot of fun playing with it. She made a embroidered butterfly bag, a painted monarch rock, buttons,

Hair clips and a felt needle book for my daughters. There was cards and jewelry.  Everything was wrapped really nicely with butterfly paper. The whole box was really adorable!

And one of my fav things was the framed monarch wall art. I immediately put it on the wall with my other collage of frames  Smiley

Thanks again craftylittlemonkey. I loved everything and cannot wait for you to get your package now. We still have not had a chance to try out the hand knitter that you sent but as soon as I teach my girls to use it I will post some action shots for you!

Yay, awesome! So glad you guys liked it all and that it was fun to unwrap. The shadowbox is Very multimedia, for the monarch I painted a piece of leather from an old jacket my parents were throwing out and I don't paint much so it was super fun! Can't wait to see what your girls make with the Knitting Nancy, and I can't wait to see what you guys made for us too!

(So sorry I posted in the wrong place before!  Undecided)

I got my package from MargieJ on Saturday!

Starting in the bottom left corner (but skipping the box!), there was an appliqued tote bag, a pink and purple potholder, 2 beaded sun-catchers, and a wall hanging with "THIMK." (For more about thimk, go here.http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=720433)

Here are the two sun-catchers, which I have put on my crepe myrtle!

Thank you, MargieJ, for making my first swap a great one!

The wall hanging was a result of having made the tote bag and realizing I had put the front piece with its appliqued butterfly upside down!  So had to take bag apart and make a new front piece with a different appliqued butterfly.  So I thought about it and decided to not throw away the first piece, so glued it on backing and it became a wall hanging.  Taught me to "thimk" before I cut, or certainly to double check!  LOL!

I received, but I've been having computer problems (a computer virus necessitated a reinstall of windows, and I still don't have all the drivers put back), and the last two weeks have been a bit nuts.  And the awesome t-shirt that Glamis gave me was in the wash when I took the pictures of the amazing painting she did, and the cool headband and bobby pins that she decorated (and some really cool ceramic butterflies that came with paint, that I'd kind of like to paint so I can post before and after pics), not to mention the gift bags she made for everything.

I'm hoping to get things updated so I can upload the pictures from my camera today. Yesterday, it took me close to an hour to get my printer working (HP stinks). And it still won't scan like it's supposed to.  So, apologies to Glamis, and I hope everyone who's waiting for pictures to be posted gets to see the pictures before August. Wink

This gallery does seem a bit slow but it's not too bad (I waited over 3 weeks in another swap, it was driving me CRAZY! Tongue).
If you took pics of your own stuff I say go ahead and post them for all to see and hope for action shots later on. I know I'd love to see more butterfly crafts!

I received my package today!!! IT'S BEAUTIFUL!  I'll be posting my pictures in a little while once I get them all uploaded!  PICTURES!
The whole thing:

Close up of one of my red, white, and blue American University butterflies: ( Grin)

The other one:

And my favorite butterfly, a purple and green one!  (Two of my favorite colors!)

The text says: Yesterday is history, tomorrow's a mystery.  Today is a gift, that's why we call it the present.

This is so beautiful, I can't imagine how much work went into it!  I've already changed my entire dorm decorating plan to center around how gorgeous this is!

I'm sorry the pictures are so bad, Craftster wouldn't take my camera's photos, only my phone's.

Thanks bmd1011!

Finally got my computer problems resolved, at least as far as the camera goes, so here are my pictures of what the wonderful, generous, and talented Glamis sent me! By the way, this is definitely one of my absolute favorite swap packages ever!
First a group shot of everything but the t-shirt (which was in the washer at the time):

Here, you can see a painting done by Glamis (more on that in a minute), a ceramic butterfly kit that my kids have been eyeing enviously, a beaded headband and bobby pins that have some really cute butterfly beads on them, and four(!) bags made from sheer butterfly fabric to hold all my fabulous new stuff!
Here's a close-up of the painting:

It's really well done, and in some of my favorite colors! I love it!  I just have to figure out where I'm going to hang it.  While it would match the decor in the kids' bathroom, do I really want to sacrifice such awesome butterflyness to a bathroom (think of the moisture!) that I rarely go into (and I'd never see it!)?  I don't think so!  Maybe I'll hang it above my sewing machine as inspiration!

While I didn't manage to get an action shot yet (next time I wear it, hopefully before I get a chance to spill something on it), here's a picture of the t-shirt that Glamis decorated for me:

It's based on a t-shirt from my wist, and it's really pretty! I wore it the day after I received, and I'm sure I'll wear it lots more!

And here's another picture of the bags (I think I got pictures of all the different butterflies this time) and the beaded hair accessories:

If you have a better picture, feel free to post it, Glamis. I'm afraid my camera didn't do justice to the beads you picked out. The silver cut out butterflies are really pretty, and so are the green and blue butterflies!
Part of the reason I sent late was that I felt that what I'd made didn't measure up to what I'd received. I hope it does now. You did an amazing job on my package, Glamis, and I hope you like yours as much as I love my package!  Thanks!

A last picture, as a teaser for Glamis (I hope it gets there soon!):

Look at all those great butterfly crafts! Whoo, this gallery is hopping now! Everything looks terrific too. I've got my own shots to add!

I finally, Finally got my parcel from Shelina! It's been over at my mom's in the states for a bit but we've had a family medical emergency that's kept her hopping and not able to bring me any mail so I've been waiting (very impatiently!) and my lovely partner has been waiting (very Patiently!) for it to arrive.

So now it's here and let me tell you, spoiled! We are spoiled RoTteN!

First the stuff for me, Beautiful Butterfly cards and envelops (I send a lot of snail mail, it's something I love to do), little flower note cards and envelops (for swaps!), teensy sparkly dragonflies, a tag that says "Made With Love By Mommy" that will go onto something I sew for my daughter to wear, a cute orange box (my fave colour) that had a really neat looking filigree brass and rainbow enamel butterfly pin inside (oddly enough, sort of similar to a fridge magnet I sent to Shelina, how funny is that!), and last but not least the most gorgeous, spectacular, beautiful, wonderful, amazing butterfly dotee which I totally Adore!
Then there were piles of stickers for my little guy and this totally crazy neat-o mosquito blue crochetted creature that is too awesome. My son added it to the group he sleeps with straight away. That means he loves it Wink.
And for my daughter, loads of stickers, adorable hair barettes, and this cute cute cute fuzzy pink dolly with purple wings that she really didn't want to give back to me for photos. She took it over to grandma's tonight, she was utterly attached to it all night long.
Now, that's a ton of wicked loot already but that isn't all. I know, I could hardly believe it myself! I couldn't get over all the stuff that was crammed into this box! My son got a Mario hat, he could not stop grinning from ear to ear when I handed his this thing. Seriously happy, he wants me to make him a whole outfit now!
My daughter got an absolutely wonderful pillow case dress covered in colourful butterflies and sparkly bits. It's so sweet on her. A bit roomy Shelina, you were right, but she actually has a butterfly belt that will work perfectly with it this year and it will still fit her next year so it's just right.

Spoiled. We were completely spoiled. Thank you SO much for being such a generous and talented partner, for being so patient waiting for pictures and for crafting your heart out for us. We appreciated every single item in that box, it was a Blast to open it up! I doubly wish I hadn't mailed out before the send outs were extended so I could have crafted even more for you, you obviously used every bit of time to load that box up with goodies!
Now that I've got the pics up I realize I even forgot two items! Little plaster bobble head figurines for the kids to paint themselves, they love that sort of craft it will be a lot of fun for them. <3

Thanks as well to our organizer darkangelwingz for putting this all together, it's been great so far and I'm really looking forward to the rest of the gallery!

I am so glad you like everything!
I had a lot of fun crafting for you and your kids.
Your little girl looks so cute in the dress! I seriously was worried that it would be a lot bigger.
That was the first dotee doll that I have made. It was a lot of fun! I am hoping to make more soon.  Grin
I loved your package that you sent me! Your an awesome partner! I showed my mom the package I got from you when she came to visit. She thought everything was so great! I think I may have got her into swapping. She has been eye balling the new swaps trying to decide which one she wants to join first Smiley

Much better pictures than mine!  Thanks!  The shrinky dinks are really detailed, too!

Does wonderwoman, perhaps, like purple?  Smiley   Great package, darkangelwingz!  I looked at doing earrings similar to those, but then I'd thrown out all of my old Bead and Button issues (one of which had something pretty similar). I like how yours turned out, and that's a good photo! I made a fringed bag 6-7 years ago, and I still remember how time consuming it was to get the fringe to stay in place for a picture (not hard, as such, but finicky).

Wow!  Waiting for a package from England is hard to do!  Here are the great items I received from pinkmichk:
Starting with everything:

In this picture you will find:
A recycled junk-mail collage picture, lovingly framed, too!
A tote with sparkly butterflies sewed on.
A zippered pouch with a very nice zipper pull.
A bracelet with a bottle-cap charm (more pics below).
A MUCH NEEDED tissue cover.
And a very cute pen/pencil/ruler set.  That will be awesome when school starts in 2 weeks. (eeek!!)

And, of course, and ACTION SHOT of the bracelet:

Thanks so much, pinkmichk!!  It was so fun to open up this package.  This swap really had a lot going for it, didn't it!!??  Great job everybody!

Thanks!  I got the pattern for the earrings from an old book I had with lots of fringe earring patterns.  I do have the bead and button issue you are talking about though!
wow, you made a fringe bag?  That must have taken lots of patience!

In the last picture you'll see the cute butterfly hair clip, and wooden painted butterfly with a B on it  Grin

Thanks bmd1011!

so so glad you liked it! That cross stitch kit had been in my craft stockpile for a while, and figured I'd give it a new home. SO happy to see you enjoyed it in the end- and so glad I was able to revive my cross stick love  Grin

That is just lovely! I'd really enjoy seeing more pics if you've got any bmd1011. That's some impressive embroidery there.

sadly I forgot to take pics before I shipped it out, I realized that after I dropped the box off at the post office  Cry

BrooklynMermaid- if you want you can text me the phone pics, and I can upload them for a clearer look  Grin

I'm so glad you like everything!  The wooden butterfly is also supposed to have a magnet piece on the back, it fell off on me and i put another on, but if it fell off again I'm sorry about that.  Also the box is entirely hand painted and it was such a hassle to get that grating done, but it was worth it cause you like it!

Yeah, it was a Christmas present for my best friend, right before she moved out of state. I'm thinking it took me about 15 hours of work.  I was making beaded flowers at the time, too, and  the bag was more interesting to do than the flowers (it was the dragon bag from www.beadedpatterns.com ).  I'm usually better at following other people's directions than making my own patterns.  Smiley  And her modified square stitch is genius!

Thanks, darkangelwingz!  And thanks for organizing a great swap!

I'm glad you like everything, Glamis!  It was fun crafting for you! I was seriously considering making a zombie butterfly something or other, but I kept veering towards the cartoony (specifically Plants vs. Zombies from www.popcap.com cartoony), and I couldn't get the bloodshot eyes to look right, so it's an abandoned concept. For now, anyway.  Wink

Sorry it had taken me so long to post to the gallery.  I was bummed when it looked like my partner was going to flake.  But thanks to zigg13pra (my swap angel) this swap turned out pretty awesome!  My dh is on the other computer with the photos.  So I will post again tomorrow with the photos of some of the things that I sent and the package I have received!
