Here is a baby blanket I have just finished today for a good friends new baby girl.  I have made this blanket a few times before because it is so quick and easy to make up.  This time however I added a shell edging to give it a nice frilly, girly finish.  I used bamboo tape yarn which was very pleasing to work with (despite the fact the balls often got tangled!) and gave a nice silky finish.

the pattern is very basic, but I have written it up if you fancy giving it a go - let me know if you need any help

awww this is GORGEOUS!! Thank you so much for sharing the pattern, this will be perfect for a co-worker who is having a baby!! I was wondering what size hook did you use.....and did you use chunky yarn?OH last question, how many skeins does this pattern require? Once again thanks so much for sharing the pattern Smiley

thanks for your lovely comments - I used a 4.5mm hook with bamboo tape (bamboo tape has a similar weight to Aran), but to be honest you could probably use a slightly bigger 5mm hook for a looser weave. For normal DK cotton a 4mm or 4.5mm hook would be fine, the finished blanket is suppose to be light and airy, so lacy is good. I used 4 x 50g balls of the bamboo, but this is a heavy yarn, so I guess it would be a lot less with a cotton. Hope this answers your questions Grin
