but this is a granny square blanket, quite simple compared to all the other wonderful pretty things on craftster, but i still like it.  It's actually not a blanket either, more of a lapghan.  It's meant to be a house warming gift for my friend who's moving to Arizona sometime this summer.

nevermind how incredibly messy my bed is or that parts of my shades are missing.  I was in the middle of an epic battle with my digital camera so these aren't the best pictures, but they're not bad, they're pretty accurate colour wise.  There's also really cute stitching along the edge of the blanket I did with the pink in single crochet, you can sort of see it in the second picture

That is beautiful! I definitely have to make one for myself. I call pink and brown my 'cupcake colors' and they are my favorite pair. I got SO excited when I saw the pictures, I have to know more!
How long did this take you? What yarn did you use? Size hook? Everything!
Great job!!

i'm glad it got you so excited, really nothing special to the blanket though, it's just a huge granny square.  It took me a while to make, about 6 months but that's just because I abandoned it half way through, so It really shouldn't take that long if you do it straight through.  I think i used a size h or k hook, not really sure, it doesn't really matter what size you use.  The brown yarn is just plain red heart and the pink its lions brand wool-ease, they actually don't make that colour anymore, which is half the reason why I stopped the blanket.

hope that's what you're looking for!

thats very cool. I love the color combination too

I have a similar afghan that isn't completed either and is draped over our couch because redheart stopped making that particular color of brown.
