For Prom this year I made 3 dresses.  However only 2 of them were actually worn for prom.  I have pictures of 2 of the dresses, mine and my sister's.  I like them.. I made mine in January or February, and I had to redo it because I didn't like the skirt.

This was how it looked originally, but I ended up not liking the skirt portion of it, so I ripped that off and made a circle skirt which ended up being a little short (mid thigh) and spun out really well and if I did spin at prom it would expose my nether regions to my entire graduation class (not cool)

Front and back from when I was showing it on dailybooth

and a picture from the day of.

This dress caused me a lot of stress.  It was annoying because the skirt is 2 circle skirts that were cut into quarters then sewed together alternating colours.  The top of the dress is actually made from the same pattern as my dress, except I had made it in the colour blocks that were requested by my sister in her design.  The straps and bottom binding are blue satin blanket binding, and the belt she made herself out of purple fabric that we had left over from dresses I made last june for my friend's prom dress that I never got pictures of and didn't get to post, some lace hemming tape (I think) from the dollar store and is held together with safety pins (she made it herself).  I spent a total of $2 on my dress, the fabric I got for christmas and I had the silver ribbon on hand the only thing I had to buy was the zipper.  My sister's dress cost her about $10.  She got everything but the zipper and binding from the remnants bin at the fabric store.  Everyone was pretty amazed at how little we actually spent on our prom dresses.

My Sister's dress and her date.  I made her date's tie as well.

I like both dresses you did an excellent job on both you should be proud. They both would also have looked cute with some tulle under the skirts and helped with the length of yours and hid your nether regions when you danced LOL. Great job on both!

They're both very nice Smiley - the matching tie is a brilliant idea too!

lol thanks. and sure i'll be your sister Tongue

My sister's was supposed to have tulle underneath it, but she ended up wearing a purple and black tutu under it that she got in downtown toronto.  Mine would have looked a little weird with tulle, at least i think it would.  I wanted it to have a ruffle type fall to the skirt, the tulle would have made it too poofy for my liking.

That's what my sister wanted.  She gave him the choice of a hot pink shirt and royal blue tie or a royal blue shirt and a hot pink tie, he chose the one with less pink, plus we had enough fabric left over to make a tie to match, if i really wanted to, I could have made it both pink and blue.

Wow...brilliant dresses.
Thanks Smiley

I love the colors on your sister's dress!
She originally wanted her dress to be lime green and hot pink, but didn't find the lime green in the remnents bin at fabricland.  so she got the blue and pink which also ened up awesome Smiley
