Yes the white hair is super soft.

And I forgot to say that I love the tree with a kite - what a great way to incorporate a tail - hee hee.

OH OH! My lovely sister let me use her camera as she oohs and aahs over my yummy dotees and jealously tries to steal them.

First up: Amelina

This little beauty says harmony and sports awesome beads on both the tail and the hanger that are purple on the inside and clear on the out. Sadly it is hard to see the beads well against my lavender kitchen wall but isn't she absolute great? I adore the hint of asian facial features and the swirls of the green fabric are enchanting.

Second: La Diosa de Almas (Diosa for short)

From her delicious curves to her fluffy white hair, I love every inch of her. As soon as I saw her, my first thought was that she is the keeper of souls (in my imagination I feel that she protects all souls until they are ready to transcend and attach to a baby. She has a very wise, grandmotherly look about her and although her eyes are shut, I would not count on much getting past her!)

Sorry it took so long to post pics. These little ladies deserve a great deal of recognition for their beauty and the artists deserve even more. The craftsmanship is wonderful. I cannot say enough about my dotees. There are a lot of really great dotees on here so far but I have to say that the ones I have received are by a million miles my favorite!

Just wondering...Does crafting cause more stress than it relieves?

Yup, that was from me. I forgot to put cards in with them so I wrote the info on the back of the envelope ^.^;

I'm usually so anxious to mail mine out that I usually forget to put cards in them.  I assume that because my name is on the front of the envelope, that even if my partner accidentally tossed it, she would remember the name.  When I receive, I usually put the dotee back in the mailer for safekeeping until I can have her picture taken.

The tree is very clever---and it has a face! Cheesy

Nice!

I agree--we can't have too many pics and views of the dotees...

I also love the dotee from rosie1981--I must be getting sentimental as they are my favorite type of dotee as well...sweet and simple---love the tail!!  And, I have never used paper pulp in this fashion--what a great idea--so is it pressed into a mold like clay?

The materials used for the skull dotee are very cool--I love the white hair...

yep. I used torn bits of newpaper and hot water and blended it to a pulp. I used mold sold for poly clay, squeezed pulp into the mold until I was satisfied that most of the water was out and let it dry on the window sill for a few days.  Thanks for the comments.

P.S. In the Monthly Odd Holidays swap, I made seed bombs with paper pulp. They were taking for ever to dry out so I stuck them in the toaster over on low heat for about 20-30 minutes. It really speeded up the drying.
Just a tip.

My first dotee was waiting for me when I got back from a mini vacation.  This one is from Fosca and I love how she was made.  She reminds me of a spirit/medicine woman but I haven't decided on a name yet.  (The red in the back is not part of her, it's belongs to a doll that is on the shelf above)  This was my first dotee swap and by looking at the others I'm learning that dotees can be a variety of objects - Can't wait to make more!
