I've been shopping around for a medical bracelet for a while, but all I've found has either been hideous or too expensive.  When I found a pre-engraved tag for really cheap on Ebay, I decided to make my own.

The three strands were strung on a single piece of fishing line anchored with a lobster claw on either side. Each strand follows a different pattern using the same four types of beads.  Because of the lobster claws, if I get tired of this bracelet, I can easily switch it out for another one.

I love this!  And how cool of an idea to use the lobster claws on it so you can swap it out Smiley

this is a great idea and the change out is great.  i didn't think you could use fishing line with a lobster claw, so I learned something new.  Did you tie knots around the loopy thing on the clasp?  thanks

do you know how you could make one that's already been chained up and used a bit?
i have a friend who has epilepsy and she's 15, and HATES it.
i'd love to make it for her as a surprise.

Pretty much.  Before the first, and after the last strand, I tied knots through the loops and hid the tails inside the beads.  Between the strands, I did a single loop of the fishing line through the clasp to reduce bulk.

If you have pliers available, you could probably take off the chain (there should be two rings holding it onto the pendant) and replace it with something like what I made.  You could have rings on either end and use the pliers to close them in, or you could do the lobster claws to attach the bracelet to the rings.

The pendant is her property.  She can do anything to it she wants to.
