This is the robot project my wife referenced in her robot birthday thread:

I started out making the head, body, and limbs:


Then I layed it out:


This is the finished welded metal portion:


Then I soldered up some LED's, 2 9 volt batteries and some resistors to a couple switches (which the lil' guy loves!):

Your son is so lucky to have you for a dad.  That is too freakin cool!!! 

I wanted to put lights in my robots but so far its only an attachment instead of being wired up on the inside like yours.  I need to learn more about electronics... those buttons and switch you put in there... ultra cool.
